The handbook and the constitution
Here we describe the relationship between the handbook and the constitution.
Updated: 19jul2021
We define two relationships between the handbook and the constitution:
During the commons.hour project
The design practice . .
will generate a draft handbook;
the handbook will evolve a collection of protocols;
a limited selection of core protocols - at an appropriate level of abstraction and specifically relevant to formal incorporation as a coop - will be abstracted as the basis of a constitution.
These will be referred to as the principles of meet.coop.
In ongoing practice
The handbook will be the documentary reference frame of practice in the coop, in all spaces (platform spaces, media spaces, venue spaces); the constitution will establish this as a principle (ie a core protocol). See: Core protocols aka principles
