# The handbook and the constitution

> Updated: 19jul2021

We define two relationships between the handbook and the constitution:

### During the **commons.hour project**

The design practice . .

* will generate a **draft handbook**;
* the handbook will evolve a collection of **protocols**;
* a limited selection of **core protocols** - at an appropriate level of abstraction and specifically relevant to formal incorporation as a coop - will be abstracted as the basis of a **constitution**.
* These will be referred to as the **principles** of meet.coop.

### In ongoing practice

The handbook will be the documentary **reference frame** of practice in the coop, in all spaces (platform spaces, media spaces, venue spaces); the constitution will establish this as a principle (ie a **core protocol**).
